We are a traveling couple looking to share our experiences living abroad, exploring the planet and taking in live music.

ABOUT ME

After deciding to resign our jobs in Beijing in favor of non-stop travel for a full year, we settled in in Kunming, Yunnan. After working there for a year we decided to take a break from China and moved to Bali where we currently live. Sasha is studying the language in a Udayana University and Rachel is beach bumming and working on our website.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have mostly hosted people in Beijing because often times we feel that China can be a very difficult place to travel. We feel that most people come to Beijing and only stay for 4 or 5 days and only see the famous attractions and there's far more to Beijing than those particular sights. We also hosted many people in Kunming and offered a lot of advice for things to do and see in Yunnan province. Now we're hoping to meet up with travelers and locals in Bali.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted several people. In fact, 2 people we hosted enjoyed Beijing so much they ended up living there. We've only surfed a few times: in Seoul, Tokyo, Philadelphia, Boston and Hong Kong. We're looking forward to more surfing opportunities. We've shared many great experiences with awesome new people and have made many great friends. We can't wait to make more!

Interests

Having super crazy, fun adventures! We love Music more than anything. We have traveled all around America following bands on tour and going to as many music festivals as possible. We traveled all the way to Mexico from Beijing just for a music festival. We also enjoy learning about new cultures and love trying new food!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving over two national parks in Utah.

Scuba diving with massive sea turtles in Indonesia.

Watching the sun rise over Angkor Wat.

Seeing an amazing sunset and then going to the crazy full moon party in Thailand.

Hiking in the mountains around Kunming city in Yunnan Province, South China.

Spending the night in a Karaoke Bar in the middle-of-nowhere China as a result of being lost and not knowing the language. You'll have to stay with me to hear that crazy story!
