Music, Movies, and Books
For books, I love just about anything by Michael Chabon, Jeffrey Eugenides, David Mitchell, and David Sedaris. I also have a soft spot for young adult lit and love series like Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, and Hunger Games
I love folk music and hip hop, like the Avett Brothers, Common, Nas
Some of my favorite movies are Star Wars (especially Return of the Jedi) and Lord of the Rings (not so into the Hobbit though...), Papermoon, and of course Heavyweights.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching the sunset on an island in Spain with my best friends--moments like that make you realize how beautiful your life is. As an aspiring midwife, the first birth that I observed was probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen, but I totally get that most people are grossed out by that stuff.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English, Spanish, and all about the cultures I have experienced. I love to learn people's stories. Cooking and sharing recipes is one of my most favorite things.
Countries I’ve Visited
