About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Not all those who wander are lost.” — J. R. R. Tolkien

ABOUT ME

i am 30 years old and married to my amazing husband and fellow traveler Kyle. I completed my goal of visiting all 7 continents before i turned 30. I moved to Copenhagen,Denmark in august 2010 and spent two semesters in Copenhagen and it changed my life. I love traveling and i have been to over 55 countries so far. I moved to santa barbara in 2008 and graduated college from there in may 2012. Now as of writing this ( July 2019) I work as a travel agent and am lucky to have a career in the industry I love! we can't currently host but I miss and love the Couchsurfing community so much!

PHILOSOPHY

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think the better question is how dont i participate in CS haha. During my 2010/2011 year abroad i couch surfed all over Europe and met some awesome people! I couch surfed in Israel in 2008 and i have also hosted people in california. While i was in copenhagen I attended the local meetings in Copenhagen and i try to attend CS events when i am traveling...I organized CS meet ups in Santa Barbara every month for a year in 2011

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have had the most amazing couch surfing experiences in israel. i have had some really cool people stay with me in california too. When i was in Israel i was with a large group of lowd, rowdy, messy americans and these amazing guys opened up their home to us and let us take it over for almost a week! there were suitcases and people everywhere. On my european adventure trip in Dec/Jan 2011 i also stayed with some awesome hosts who helped me out in some ridicilous circumstances ( stolen purses, missed trains etc). The "kindness to strangers" concept is something i have experienced firsthand and hope to give to others. I hope to have some more awesome couch surfing experiences and make more new friends! So far this has been my experience:My Hosts: December 2008- Eyal Regev in Tel Aviv, IsraelDec 18 2010- Jakub Machalek in Prague, Czech RepublicDec 19-20 2010- Mattia Variale in Vienna AustriaDec 23 2010- Filip Muzina in Zagreb,CroatiaDec 24 2010- Vit Dobson in Ljubjlana, SloveniaJan 5-7 2011- Luca S in Rome,ItalyJan 7-10 2011- Fabio Nilo and Joao Compasso in Madrid,SpainJan 10,11,13,2011- Marta Conde in Madrid, SpainJan 12,2011-Fernando in Madrid,SpainApril 7-10- Luke Fast, Berlin,GermanyApril 10-11- Kon Tsop, Athens,GreeceApril 11-13- Christos and Agata, Lesvos GreeceApril 19-22- Petros and Alexis, Heraklion,Crete,GreeceApril 26- Easter Dinner with Copenhagen couch surfersMay 6-12-Bonn,Germany- Luke FastDecember 29 2011-Jan 2 2012 Kira- Chicago,IllinoisMy Surfers: March 2009- Drew Young from californiaApril 2009- Julia-Marie Breslin from GermanyDecember 2010- Daniel Giffin from Australia

Music, Movies, and Books

everything the world has to offer! i love funny movies, country music, i have a weakness for Harry Potter and anything by Mitch Albom ( Tuesdays for Morrie), and Illusions by Richard Bach. I also have a love for all DISNEY movies and can/will sing along to them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

as jason described our israel trip on here "We climbed tall mountains, swam dead seas, crossed treacherous borders, and planted baby trees. We drank strange elixirs, we prayed with rabbis, we explored ancient cities, and danced 'till sunrise"... i have seen Petra in jordan, scuba dived the red sea in israel, ridden a camel through a gas station in israel, drank champagne at the top of the eiffel tower, saw where sound of music was filmed in austria, drank beer in a german beer garden, sang christmas songs with an old lady on a bus in denmark because that was the only english she knew, fed monkeys in costa rica...straddled the prime meridian in london.. drank guinness in dublin...browsed the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, surfed the waves of Portugal, been to symphonies and operas in Vienna..fireworks over the Rhine river, sledding in the swiss alps, new years in venice, spending christmas eve in sloevenia and christmas day in germany... i am very lucky in life and have had so many amazing travel experiences!
