ABOUT ME

I'm a newspaper reporter addicted to travelling. Every time I go backpacking to get it "out of my system" I end up with an even bigger list of places to visit.
I want to see as much of the world as possible but can't seem to get past Latin America, I love it so much - it holds a real magnetic pull for me.

My dream job would be a foreign stringer for the nationals back at home but if I wasn't a journalist, I'd like to be a painter and decorator.

Family and friends mean the world to me.

I'm particularly interested in social justice and fair trade.

I'm a daydreamer and the first thing I'd save from my house in a fire would be my photo albums.

I can quite happily while away an afternoon lying on my back and watching the clouds drift across the sky, making a daisy chain and listening to the peaceful hum of crickets.

I used to want to be a vet, nurse or forensic scientist.

I can't whistle, blow bubbles with gum or skip.

I love the smell of jasmine and freshly-cut grass.

I'd rather eat a lump of cheese than a bar of chocolate.

I passed my driving test first time but can't reverse park.

I think buying petrol is the most tedious thing. And it always seems to need filling up when you're running short on time!

PHILOSOPHY

Live for the moment and have no regrets.

In the words of Mick Jagger: "You can't always get what you want but if you try sometimes, you might find, you get what you need."

A good friend once told me: "Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like nobody is watching you". Good advice!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was introduced to the Couchsurfing community by Marko, a fellow traveller who I hitch-hiked with in Mexico, although I'd briefly heard about it through a television programme in England.
I think it´s a brilliant idea and haven't had a bad experience yet....please don't be my first!
