About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world, learn about different cultures and make new friends

ABOUT ME

I am currently travelling around Europe with my Husband Andy who is also a keen circus performer as well as previously being a Radiation Therapist.

Below is about me :)

I am a very easy going person. I love travelling and meeting new people. My Husband Andy and myself run a community circus school in Australia that we set up after working ona volunteer project with Performers Without Borders in Nicaragua teaching circus to street kids with a group of 8 performers. It was an incredible experience and inspired us to do more social circus projects. We would love to share this with more people. Andy and I are on a trip to Europe for the European Juggling Convention which is in UK this year. Whilst we are here we are keen to explore some other European countries.

In Australia before running away to start a circus I worked as a dietitian. To me, these don't seem incongruent. I love both jobs and am very passionate about helping others. I like being around people and I talk a lot. I love food and everything to do with it and I think trying local foods is so important when travelling. I am a semi-flexible pescatarian for environmental reasons. So i mainly eat seafood and vegetarian but not meat. I say flexible because if there is a traditiinal local food, I may try it as part of my travelling experience.
I also love Parkrun which is a world wide community running group that meet Saturday morning for 5km runs.

PHILOSOPHY

"Everything happens for a reason" - even the things that hurt or make me sad, I can usually find something positive out of the experience

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to share my stories with others. I have hosted before and encourage other travellers to join CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had only good couch surfing experiences, both in hosting and surfing. I have met some interesting fun people and kept in contact afterwards. Meeting travellers is always fun as their minds are open to new things. That is the way to live!

Music, Movies, and Books

In general I am terrible at pop culture. I like watching movies, listening to music and reading books but it does not define my life.

Anything disney! My alltime favourite is The little Mermaid but Aladdin and The Lion King are up there of course. I also like comedy movies and I am a sucker for romantic films.

I will listen to most types of music except I am not a fan of rap and I usually like something I can sing along too.

I love reading! I have recently been reading Paulo Coelho's books and find them very inspiring for travel =)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched the sunset and full moon rise over a sea of fog as far as the eye could see from the top of Mount Neissen in Switzerland on 11/11/11. My favourite number, an amazing day and an incredible view!!

Taught circus to street children in Nicaragua with Performers Without Borders

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach partner dancing or circus skills like the basics of juggling and hula hoop (My husband and I are travelling with our circus equipment). I can teach about healthy eating and maybe the very basics of spanish but I would love to learn more spanish :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

My Husband and I are travelling with our personal circus equipment so we can teach circus skills like the basics of juggling, acrobalance and hula hoop. I can also teach some partner dancing (modern jive)
