Overview
About Me
TL/DR - Young it consultant spending most of his free time and income on travelling.
*please read additional information in "My Home" section*
I'm an open person, I like meeting new people and the rest of this generic couchsurfer's profile is also about me.
I'm a total yes person. Whatever offer I get or whatever opportunity I see, I'll most likely agree to it just because why not? I never want to miss any kind of experience, but clearly - everything is an experience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that couchsurfing should not be a tradeoff, but the best way of traveling. This is the experience I try to provide to the people I host. When doing so, I kind of get to travel in my own city, which feels amazing.
Also, hosting people motivates me to finally do the dishes before they arrive :)
Interests
Like (presumably) a lot of people, my interests change over time, and while they never go away, new things come on top and become the prioritized ones. Here I'll list some of my interests from newer ones to older ones.
Cocktails. This is one of my latest passions, as I became very curious about the world of classical cocktails. I am currently trying to explore the modern cocktail scene both in Copenhagen and when travelling, and I am also building a little home bar. I especially like gin or cognac based drinks, and New Orleans pre-prohibition classics.
Coffee. After a good while of diluting bad filter coffee from my office with milk, I decided to step into the specialty coffee world. Now I got a V60 and I'm trying to master brewing in it, and I am also an often guest in a lot of different coffee places in Copenhagen.
Art. I am still a newbie, but I'm trying to know more about art in its various forms. Don't you think Tom’s Diner by Suzanne Vega gives out Hopper vibes?
Cooking. As much as I am bored by everyday cooking, I'm quite eager to spend an entire day in the kitchen trying to make something outstanding. Doesn't happen too often, but it entertains me so much when it does.
Beer, specifically craft beer in its variations. I do however appreciate the classics as well. My desire to explore the beer world kind of settled over time, but I did gain a solid base and I do still enjoy a good glass. You can find my untappd profile here: untappd.com/user/rrrachkovsky
Latin dances, specifically salsa and bachata. I'm joining workshops, I'm joining social dances, I'm joining dance trips to Spain (best thing ever). Never thought I would be the one to enjoy dancing so much, but here I am.
Magic. I mean sleight of hand kind of magic to be exact. I'm practicing it for 10+ years (the last couple of years - not regularly) and I can really make you believe in miracles. Do you believe in miracles, by the way?
And then obviously, I love reading, listening to music, watching movies, walking, etc. I decided not to mention these, as they are a bit generic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
(Temporarily) became a groupie and saw 6 live shows of the same artist in 5 different countries in 9 days (the total count of her live shows I've seen is 20+)
On a very short notice agreed to join my friend on a 3-week trip through entire India, where he was invited to two weddings, and I became his +1
Got into berghain first try
Teach, Learn, Share
I will gladly take you on a tour around Copenhagen showing both famous places as well as less known local ones, which are still cute.
I can tell you so much about beer and a bit less about coffee, should you be interested.
I can teach you some card/coin/finger magic.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will be glad to cook for you, as I have a pool of my favourite recipes I'm always eager to make. I hope you like Eggs Benedict :)
However, I will be even more eager to take you out to some place to eat, as food scene in Copenhagen is incredible.
I like sharing stories, and I kind of have a lot of them, so let me know if you want to hear some (and then feel free to stop me anytime, as some of them are inappropriately long).
