About Me

Hello!

I'm just your avarage 20-something, trying to balance work, social life and making a small contribution to create better world. This does not mean that I'm naive (I work in business after all), but I'm attracted to noble causes .

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I registered quite a few years ago on a whim, but haven't really used CS at all. Now my life and my living arrangements have changed so I thought it would be nice to actually get into it for real. I love hitchiking and staying on the couches of my friends all over Europe, so I thought it would be nice to start giving back to the world for all the favors that I was lucky enough to get.

Interests

Football.
Food.

Then I ran out of things starting with an F. But seriously, Budapest is a shitty place to watch football but a great place to be&eat. So I'm a bit of a foodie, I used to run a flat restaurant with a friend, and I'm still looking out for new ideas/recepies. I'm very much into art - I tend to know what the good/important general things going on in town, so I can hook you up with a few good tips or go&see something if you happen to be around for a weekend.

I'm a bit of a movie buff as well, and quite an omnivore, always open to challange :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Changes with the seasons, but examples:

Music: Florence and the Machine, Chvrches, M.I.A., Janelle Monáe, TV On The Radio, Austra, Mumford and Sons, Dire Straits, Mike Oldfield, Caravan Palace, The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men, Frightened Rabbit, Django Django

Movies: Short Term 12, Se7en, Chariots of Fire, Winter's Bone, We are the Best, Ida, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, The Help, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Children of Men, Dogma

Books by Asimov, Frank Herbert, Neil Gaiman, Nick Hornby, China Miéville, Steinbeck (and a few Hungarians you are not likely to know, but would love to tell you about)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It is funny how the example for language to learn is swahili, as my feat to beat remains my two months of volunteering in Tanzania - we were collecting and sorting school textbooks in the UK and then delivering them straight to schools in need (which is like most of the schools really)

Teach, Learn, Share

I never considerd myself anything but a guy who loves to think and talk. Maybe that was an unconscious specializations since I'm quite clumsy with most things that require a great deal of dexterity (apart from cooking, altough that might not qualify). So what I can share is years of quite liberal education and contemplation on institutions, communities form, affect individuals and get affected in return. Yeah, I know, not exactly parachuting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

First and foremost my free time. I'd like to be in this to meet new people, hear different ideas and be able to reflect on it. I'm quite game for most activities, because I always feel like I don't have enough good ideas

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Italy, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Slovenia, Tanzania

Countries I’ve Lived In
