About Me
Hello!
My name is Radek and I'm a guy from northern Poland. I currently reside in Gdańsk. I graduated high school 5 years ago and went on to study Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology but due to struggles with my mental health, I dropped out. I'm still struggling but every year it's getting better. Due to my mental hardships I'm quite sensitive which can be both good and bad. I also have ADHD.
I try to live in peace with everyone, even though sometimes it's very hard. I think that spreading kindness is important. I'm quite silly, I tend to tell really bad puns. I love learning new things, especially about cultures and religions. I'm interested in mind expansion, psychology, psychiatry, ethnography and anthropology, pharmacology and its many constituents and arts - especially textile arts. I'm also fascinated by animals, mushrooms and even basic chemistry.
We belong to the LGBTQ+ community so please make sure it's ok with you if you decide to stay with us - we've experienced and still experience very stressful situations because of our identity so we want to be able to feel safe during your stay.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people!!! I feel pretty lonely sometimes and desire human connection. I love to have heated conversations about various philosophical topics and love to listen to someone talking about whatever they're passionate about.
I know I won't be leaving Poland for some time due to a couple of issues but I'd love to host someone in near future. I live in a pretty small apartment with my boyfriend with ASD and we could find one or two spots on our carpet for some guests but I'd always have to talk to him about it first because due to ASD, change can be really hard or uncomfortable for him, especially when his mood is not very good. I hope you understand. :) Beside these quirks we can be pretty fun.
So: we're open for requests but please ask first. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Cocteau Twins, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, David Bowie, Gorillaz, Mac DeMarco, Dead Can Dance, Moderat, Nujabes, Radiohead, Thieves Like Us, Tame Impala, Erykah Badu, and many more. I also love chill music, electronics, funk, real 70's disco and lively/brisky jazz with strong brass instruments and drums.
My favorite genre of both books and films is non-fiction. Especially true crime documentaries, coverage on cults, drugs, pharmaceutical companies, weird communities and modern history and society.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Managed to keep myself alive - which was sometimes very hard. :"D
Teach, Learn, Share
I can probably teach some phrases in Polish. It's a pretty hardcore language so it's a good skill to know some of it! I can also show you the basics of embroidery and weaving and talk hours and hours about neuropsychopharmacology, meaning how different substances affect our body, mood and behavior. If you're willing to listen of course. :)
I can try learning anything you have to share. I especially enjoy learning about cultures and learning languages. Some cooking, maybe? I'd love to.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A place to crash and a pleasant company, unfortunately we can't shower you with many gifts because we are not completely stable financialy. However, we would most certainly have some food to share. I often cook homemade food and I was told my meals were tasty.
Other than that - our life stories and knowledge about certain topics. :) I believe that my company can be pleasant and my boyfriend is a walking encyclopedia about animals.
