ABOUT ME

8 years ago I was a single traveler, traveling the world and living abroad teaching English in South Korea. Now, my girlfriend, Thao, and I have lucked out and work on the military base here in Daegu, South Korea. We are both teachers and are really chill, but at times, can put some drinks down. We both enjoy traveling a little too much.

PHILOSOPHY

I am the youngest of three brothers. My family is not wealthy at all. I was raised on food stamps and paid my own way through high school and college...yes high school. I know what hard work is and have done it my whole life. Now is the time to experience the world and new people. I am living life on my own terms and loving every second of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a bunch and have yet to have a bad experience..this site/idea is awesome! Only problem is I have only been hosted once. While I have shared in the experience in Couchsurfing, I have not been met with the same from others, which is unfortunate. Thao and I are hoping to have better luck in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Southern Hospitality? I cooked them pancakes every time and always do something from my home to share with them a little piece of me. I love being able to exchange cultures. Couch surfing lets that happen.

Interests

I pedicab on the weekends, which stirs my interest in New Orleans and is great for extra cash. My dog Lexie, is 13 and awesome. We went on a 10k road trip in '14 and had a blast. Thao and I have traveled 18 months out of the 2 years we've been together, so there's tons of memories and experiences to share.

That was before...add some years, and we are back in Korea with a sweet gig and awesome apartment. Lexie is still here..almost 15 and awesome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived an intense mountain hike where I hung from a root for a second fearing for my life..it was stuff you'd see in a movie and IT WAS AWESOME!

The moment I stepped foot in the airport at Bejing. It was my first time actually abroad and culture shock took over for about an hour. Never gonna forget that walk around.

When I successfully read a whole book in a day...I used to tease people that did that..
