CURRENT MISSION

My mission is simply to connect to other people! I think people and their cultures and stories are fascinating and teach me so much about myself in the process. Learning from others and becoming friends with a variety of people worldwide is amazing!

ABOUT ME

I think I am a bubbly, optimistic, witty and compassionate 54 year old lady. At least I hope the people who know me would describe me that way.
I enjoy open minded and open hearted people who are equally fascinated with learning about other people.
I like artistic people, people who think deeply but laugh quickly and easily, especially at themselves.

I have been told recently that my best quality is empathy and I practically cried because of the depth of the compliment.
I am recently single after a 9 year relationship...that even led to an engagement. So I am now enjoying the single life and that means travelling again!

I am a dance teacher, speaker and author working to build a guest teaching career as far and wide as I can.
I jumped into adventures, travels and connections to a wide array of people that I was not able to be part of in my previous life situation. While I have a home base in Vancouver, BC I have been travelling to present at dance conferences worldwide and I have developing a guest teaching career so that I can share my knowledge and passion with as many diverse groups as possible. I have had the privilege of presenting across Canada and the US, Germany, Finland, Australia and to also teach in China.

I am a spiritual person and a deep thinker, although my personality would be described as bubbly. I am a chatty person full of ideas, mostly of an artistic nature. I love people and life and at this stage in my life feel pretty darn fearless. I do have quite "the story" as to how I became "fearless"!

In 2021 I ticked off a big bucket list item when I presented on a TEDx stage. My talk is titled, Your Movement Habits Create Your Life.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is to be enjoyed and shared! I am open to sharing with other open minded people.
I believe in the law of attraction, which requires personal accountability. I believe in being empowered by knowing that everything we do is our choice.
I believe that all forms of connection between humans is valid. I believe we are here to have our soul grow and have a lot of fun doing it!

I am working to have an open mind and open energy at all times.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am now also doing pet sitting and have so far done 6 gigs with cats, dog and birds and plenty of gardens to take care of. Couch surfing is a great opportunity to fill in the gaps between house/pet sitting gigs as I travel the world, while doing guest teaching and working to build my online business.

I have been couch surfing for years during my technically "homeless" phase for 3 1/2 years (due to the divorce that wasn't financially good to me) so I did a lot of couch surfing then, but also as part of my travel with my training. Last spat of couch surfing I did in the summer of 2012 I visited 8 places and couch surfed the whole time, making great new fiends I am still in contact with.
I now back at it after a LONG Break due to my long term relationship, where he was not the type to travel as much and especially did not couch surf, although I did convince him to host a few times.

During that time I learned a lot about being a good guest, especially about how to keep myself neat and out of the way yet still feel comfortable.
I finally have my place in Vancouver and I'm happy to host and make new friends. It seems only right to start repaying the great favour the Universe has done for me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience so far... signing up... and crying tears of joy for finding this site and the incredible feeling of hope for this world to find so many people who want to do as I do... just connect and learn about each other. I believe in the law of attraction... just today I was saying that the reason for living is just to connect with other humans in a positive way!
I have couched surfed 10 times and made good friends with good experiences and along the way even found romance, which was quite unexpected and not what I had been looking for!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ohh... to only pick one.
Playing a card game at 2 am with locals in Cuba where everyone there ONLY spoke Spanish and I didn't! I am learning Spanish now!
As a teacher ,just interaction with others....the most amazing thing is to see in someone's eyes when what you said and how you made them feel good about who they are. To truly validate someone changes the world one person at a time.
Holding my Mom's hand on her last breath was an amazing thing to be present for; beautiful and painful. I will always treasure the opportunity I had to have been there.

I am a bit a "Brain" geek. I teach the Brain Dance and Brain Gym. I can give you a Brain Gym "Balance" as a thank you!
I am a dance teacher and would be happy to give a class somewhere/anywhere!
I would be happy to speak about how people learn and how to create an environment conducsive to learning, especially for children.
I also read cards and am a 2nd degree Reiki practionier.
