About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Current mission is to meet a ton of the awesome people of this generation and share music ideas and good times with them.

PHILOSOPHY

Trying to share my interests, experiences and music with other people, and get to know them and their take on everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to meet new people and especially people who bring very different perspectives that mine to the table. Some of my friends have told me about really great connections they've made through couchsurfing and I would like to get out and meet some more people make the world a little cozier.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Previous couchsurfing has mostly centered around going to a new town with my guitar and setting up in a busy area until somebody (hopefully) comes over and talks to me. This summer I stayed with an unreal Classical guitarist named Pedro in Morelia, Mexico. He and his friends partied and breakdanced to early 90's and had this really kick ass projection/sound system set up on a rooftop with a killer view of the Cathedral.

Interests

Man, I feel like anything can be so infinitely interesting if you break it down and try to understand it on a fundamental level. Right now, I've been really throwing my time into the guitar, writing songs and trying to sing and play for and with more people. Also the Spanish language is awesome and I really get into reading literature and poetry (esp. Pablo Neruda I love that guy) from Latin America and Spain. I'm also really interested in outdoor adventure, camping, hiking and the ocean.

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow so many, I've really gotten into the films of Almodovar over the last year, I've probably watched 7 or 8 of them in that time I love his style. Bob Dylan, Bruce, Marley, Dispatch, the Roots, Kweli, Mambo, Salsa, hot nights and horns, old time blues and Woody Guthrie so much great music out there. Literature I dabble in a lot of things but mainstay is the NY Beats Kerouac, Cassady, Ginsberg read that stuff a lot and ruminate on America.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A really great experience I had this summer was to meet some musician friends in Mexico and play a few classic American tunes with them at taquerias and birthday parties around town. One party ended with everyone toasting tequila and screaming G.l.o.r.i.a gloria over a microphone. It was fantastic!

Teach, Learn, Share

I definitely could teach you how to play some music on the guitar or harmonica and Spanish (or English) if you're interested in languages.
