ABOUT ME

I am from Florida originally, but I haven't lived there in years. After spending most of my life on the beach, I had a strong urge to move to the mountains, so I did! I lived in Colorado for a few years, learned to snowboard, and had an amazing time. The beach will always have a special place in my heart, but the mountains are a part of my soul.
I then decided to move somewhere that had amazing beaches as well as mountains. That's how I ended up in New Zealand for a year. What a wonderful year that was! I moved over to Australia next and the adventure kept going.

After Australia I found myself on the Big Island of Hawaii. I finally utilized my Environmental Science degree and worked at a Seahorse Farm. That was one of the coolest jobs I have ever had!

I spent last summer working at a lodge outside of Denali National Park. I fell in love with Alaska and have just accepted a photography/ nature guide position in Juneau. I am so excited to have a job that combines my two of my biggest passions in life; nature and photography!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and hearing their life story. I LOVE experiencing the kindness and generosity of other humans. I have met the most welcoming, caring, and friendly people through this site. All of my couch surfing experiences have been absolutely amazing.
I used to couch surf with friends of friends before I started using this website. Living in a mountain town, I would always let friends from the city come up and crash on the couch.
I haven't been able to host since I started traveling, I have mostly lived in share houses or hostels.
Whenever I have a place of my own I will 100% give back to this loving community and host as much as I can. I want to show other people the kindness that I have experienced during my couch surfing journeys.

Interests

Exploring our beautiful natural surroundings. I love anything that gets me outside. I have always loved hiking, camping, and kayaking. I spent a summer rafting in Colorado and fell in love with the sport. I dabble in wrapping rocks every now and then. I love being able to turn something I have found on a hike into jewelry.

I am an avid photographer, I love capturing the beauty of nature!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all music! I mostly listen to reggae, I love the happy, upbeat, positivity of the genre. I am always interested in what other people are listening too, finding new music is great.
I tend to read spiritual books, or crime thrillers. I always enjoy a good science or history book.
As far as movies go, comedy is always a win and I do not like scary movies. I would rather laugh than be scared!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode a horse up an active volcano and then drank beer and shots at the top of it. What a wonderful birthday that was!

I also went skydiving TWICE in New Zealand. I rafted down the largest commercial grade waterfall, that was epic!

I also went spelunking in a glow worm cave... life goal completed!

Teach, Learn, Share

I just earned my yoga teacher certification in India, I would love to offer you a class. I want to go teach English within the next year, so if you aren't a native English speaker I could help with that. I want to learn new vegetarian and vegan meals.
