About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To promote global tolerance and understanding through cultural interaction, especially music and dance.
ABOUT ME
A slow starter, I have finally made time to travel and live life!
PHILOSOPHY
I'm convinced we are here simply for the experience of it all. I adhere to the belief that it's more about the journey than the destination and try to appreciate the now as much as I can. (Whilst still being way too practical about the future - but I'm working on that! *smile*)
Interests
I have been learning Egyptian belly dance for 8 years (nearly getting the hang of it!) and African drumming for 3 years. (Love it, love it, love it!) I also do African dance - very liberating. I have recently enjoyed trying Japanese Taiko drumming. I only discovered scuba diving in my late thirties and often wonder what took me so long! I have a keen interest in philosophy and spent many years meeting weekly with a group of other interested souls to discuss things philosophical over dinner. (That way we got to enjoy fine conversation and good food at the same time - yet another interest. *grin*)

Music, Movies, and Books
Musicwise I enjoy an eceletic mix but I just love anything with hand drumming. Arabic, Latin, African etc. I also enjoy cruisey dub styles - Thievery Corporation is a fav. I adore most classical. There is something really special about that orchestral welling of sound. *shiver* Live music is definately the best and concerts of many varieties move me more than slick recordings.
