Hello everybody! My name is Rafa, I am 30 and as many of you I love travelling and meeting different people from different places :) I was born in Valencia (Spain) and I moved to Barcelona when I was 19 because of University. I really loved Barcelona, but after working for some time in a hostel, I decided to start travelling myself and discover the world out of my country. I moved and lived in Prague for 6 months to finish my studies, then I got an internship in the Netherlands. After my internship I got a contract and I decided to stay in Holland. Because of my work I had the opportunity to live in South Africa for 7 months, which was one of the best experiences of my life. Nowadays, I left my job and I decided to take a break and to travel through South East Asia, starting in Vietnam :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here in Couchsurfing because I am going to be solo travelling for the next two months (starting 22nd of April) around Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. I always thought about creating a profile here as I love travelling but I am the kind of person that sometimes postpones things. Well, the moment has arrived and I am so excited to create this profile and to be able to connect with some people along my trip. It can be couchsurfing or it can be just to meet for a drink or a chat, but I guess this is the right platform that can facilitate contact with good people when needed.

Music, Movies, and Books

About music: a bit of everything, recently I have been listening a lot to sigur ros, the cranberries, the empire of the sun, imagine dragons...
Movies: I love movies! Tarantino, David Lynch, Pedro Almodovar, Xavier Dolan... not the typical american commercial blockbuster :) I liked quite a lot the movies that won Oscars this year (Green Book and The Favourite)
Books: I should read more books honestly,... some of my favourites are house of the spirits from Isabel Allende, Phillip Pullman trilogy, Game of Thrones ( I swear I read them before the series), a happy world from Aldous Huxley

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I believe everybody has done amazing things in life, living and going forward is quite amazing for most of us already.
I will always remember a 3 day trip I did in Lesotho. We croosed the border from South Africa to Lesotho and we visited some small villages in the mountains. We had to ride horses to get there as there were no roads. The people were so friendly and I never saw a sky so full of stars as there was no any electrical light nearby at night. The whole experience was very unique.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe every time you meet someone new you can learn something. Especially if you are out of your comfort zone and if you meet someone that has a very different life than you. Let´s figure out what it is !

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a good conversation, laughs, maybe a Spanish language class or even I can cook something Spanish for you guys :P
I am a friendly guy who makes things easy and nice. I live by the rule of treating the others the way you want to be treated :)
