About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying the holidays! :)

ABOUT ME

Uh, it's kinda hard to speak for myself here, so I just asked a few of them. Being a caring, warm and easy to be with person is what I got back. Oh and apparently I'm also funny and perfect to have good conversations with. I have to stop before I get red now...

Hehe, but actually those things maybe really put it in a nutshell. When going somehwhere, especially in the context of CS, I really like the aspect of meeting new people, getting to know them a little, and how they think and what they do and what they enjoy in their lifes.

Interests

I'm majoring in Ecology and Japanese studies, and that may be my to main interests - everything nature related, and asian culture. As a matter of fact, I'm spending an exchange student year in Tokyo at the moment, and get to see lots of tasty food and nice people and crowded trains at the moment. Really looking forward to summer, when I'll be able to get out and see more of the green side of Japan too! :)

I love outdoor sports like hiking, surfing, snowboarding, mountainbiking, and going for a run
I have a big interest in all things electronic music, and have been dabbling with DJing lately.
Besides that, I hold my friends and my family very dearly, and spending time with them and also meeting new people is very important to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Mt. Merapi in Indonesia together with a good friend of mine. The volcano normally is too active to go to the top, but we gladly got there at a time when we could go up. Standing there and seeing the sunrise was awesome. And climbing down again and getting to know our local guides and seeing what the do for a living was also really interesting.

Staying at a house on the beach in Costa Rica and getting to know a Frensh singer/songwriter and his girlfriend, who rented small huts on the beach for a living kind of made me dream of dropping out and living the downshifter lifestyle. But I love my study too much for that, haha.

Oh, and nother cool moment that comes to my mind is my first couchsurfing experience. We arrived in New York with no real plan on where to stay, and ended up at Michael's apartment. We were his first CS guests, and the things we got to see and talk about made me an avid supporter of the CS
