About Me

My name is Rafael Corrêa Gomes da Silva and I was born on July 11th, 1990, in a neither small nor big city, Juiz de Fora, a medium-sized city that is small in some aspects and big in other ones. I lived in South Korea, and traveled to Europe a few times. My biggest goals at the moment are travel as much as I can, and also have cultural and liguistic contact with as many people as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to participate in meetings promoted through Couchsurfing. I started to do this in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. I believe that couchsurfing is the perfect way to know the real culture of the place we are visiting, and to show the real culture of the place we live. Other thing that motivates me to use Couchsurfing is the fact that it promotes meetings with people from all around the world. I am also interested in being a host and a guest in cities in Brazil and worldwide.

Interests

I'm interested in learning new languages and cultures. I also appreciate gastronomy, cultural events, theater, museums, and folklorical celebrations.

Music, Movies, and Books

When the subject is music I am an alternative guy. But I'm not this alternative on fashion today (in Brazil), I am a real alternative. I appreciate different kinds of music, but I can't define it easily. I can only say that my borders in music are not very clear.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my graduation studies, I was part of an exchage program in South Korea. This definetely opened my mind about culture and language. Living in Asia was not easy, but this chalange made me realize how amazing human beings are, no matter where they are from.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an English teacher, so I can help you learning or improving your knowledge about this language. I am also a Portuguese teacher specialized in Portuguese as a foreign language. I can share the experiences I had around Asia, Europe and Brazil, and I hope to have more experiences to talk about in the future.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe that I can not only learn, but also teach many new things to the people who will have some kind of contact with me. I love to learn new languages and share experiences.
I cook Brazilian and Italian food. I can also help with housework.
