ABOUT ME

We are a couple of happy people born and raised in Gdansk, a city full of history, definetly worth visiting.
Mainly we struggle to prioritize billions of new thoughts and ideas we wake up with everyday. We are confirmed positive thinkers so we plan to realize all of them.
The longer we travel, the smaller budget we plan on our trips. We hitch-hike, couchsurf, live in tents, cause we realized that the more money you spend the less you see. Sleeping in hotels, traveling by VIP buses and eating in restaurants separates you from the unique culture of the place you visit. Marketplaces, food stalls, local buses - this is culture!

We are both vegetarians with unlimited love to our mother Earth.

Rafal currently works as a freelance software translator (English -> Polish) for a few companies, Ewa has just obtained her Master's degree in Culture studies at the University of Gdansk and is starting her own business.

Now we are during a cycling trip from Gdansk to Morroco :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We try to share the idea of a community of mutual help that does not involve money.

Actually, so far we surfed more than we hosted, but we have settled for good only recently. We have hosted a few people in our home in Kuala Lumpur, now we are hosting in Gdańsk:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far only super-positive experience. ALL of our hosts did a lot more for us than we expected. THANKS. All of you have a special place in our hearts. Small note: we don't understand (and don't accept) people who send us batch, unpersonalized messages. We thought about entering this note for a long time, but since 80% of requests that we get recently sound like booking.com forms, we would like to spare your time and ours by placing this warning;)

Interests

Traveling, world cultures, music (Ewa plays a concert flute), herbs, orchids, meditation, cooking, all kind of sports.

We are humanists (in the Greek sense), interested in everything, trying to learn new things everyday.

music: good, mainly electronic stuff, from lazy chillout to agressive speeddcore. It just must have the Thing. Rafal composes a bit himself.
books: best friends during traveling. Depends on the mood. From Ken Follet to Ryszard Kapuscinski, from books about philosophy of life, meditation and yoga to the Lonely Planet. ;)
