About Me

Hello couch surfers! I have just joined the community, and I would love to meet new friends from different cultures and backgrounds. I'm a bit quite when I first meet people but once I'm comfortable, I won't shut up haha. I'm American with an Arabic background. I live in New York City. I respect all religions and belief systems, but I don't follow any. When I travel, I like to see where and how the locals live. That's the only way to know what it is like to be in that place. Just like in NYC, most tourists go see the time square, empire state building, and statue of liberty, which are all great, but they are a fraction of what the city offers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to meet interesting people, find someone to host me when I travel and host people who wanna see my city. But above all, make new friends.

Interests

Those are things that I actually do on my daily life. I like to travel to take break from my work routine. I also regularly attend language exchange events on Meetup. When it comes to music I like classic rock, Indy, alternative, reggae, electronic, and some hip hop. I'm always open for more though. Sports are a big part of my life. I like to try different things every now and then. I primerly play soccer (football) and tennis, but I also like to snorkel and scuba dive. I have recently bought a pair of inline skates, so I'm trying to to find time to do that. I try to do yoga once in a while when I get too stressed with life....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For two years I was a part-time volunteer at a nonprofit organization that helps refugees settling in the US. I was a case manager assistant. There was nothing that has brought more joy to my heart than the feeling of being part of those hard-working people's extraordinary journey.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll offer hosting them back, if they wanna visit my city. I can help in cooking, cleaning, and buying groceries. And I can bring them something they might be interested in from my previous destination.
