Hi! My name is Rafail, i am 22 years old and come from Greece. Ι study in Thessaloniki, the second largest city of Greece (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and basically in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Although i live these last 4 years in Thessaloniki, i come from a small beautiful town in north Greece, which is called Veria. I would describe myself as an amusing, convivial and sociable person , who is always willing to meet new people and make new reliable friends. I would also say that i am patient enough i order to find the appropriate ways, in order to communicate effectively with people surround me. Furthermore i am a open-minded person, who accepts others as they are, irrespective of ethnicity, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation. I love music, especially rock, blues and jazz, while watching movies is also one of my favorites. Additionally, i am thrilled to make trips and visit new places, either cities or nature destinations. Finally, i find it very important to make new reliable friends ,as i mentioned before, and to have fun with them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that travelling is not only going somewhere with your friends just for a few days, but also meeting new people, especially those who can you reveal you the "secret" life of a city, namely the inhabitants. Furthermore, meeting people from other countries gives me the opportunity for intercultural communication, which is the main focus of my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : Especially Rock , Jazz, Blues and Folk Greek music for sure. But i also have fun in parties with electronic music (trance for example)

Movies : I love watching movies, irrespective of the time they were filmed. So i am always willing to watch every single movie of the last century, which is worth seeing . Some of my favorites : Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Schindler's list, Memento, Reservoir Dogs, The Big Lebowski etc.

Books : Due to my studies, i read a lot engineering books, but when i have time and i am in proper mood, i read specially books of big writers of the last century (like Kafka, Umberto Eco, Dostoevsky etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Erasmus of course! I spent 5 months in the beautiful city of Aachen in Germany (close to the borders with Belgium and Netherlands)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Everything (kitchen , bathroom, food, free time etc.). In case of bed, i would prefer to sleep alone, since i can't easily sleep with other people (not even my friends- brothers). Of course when i host a guest , it is obvious that he is going to have his own bed to sleep , but at the same time i sleep on the couch in the same room (There is no other available room since i live in a residency).
