CURRENT MISSION

I work for Da Government

ABOUT ME

I love cycling and have done some touring here in the U.S. and in the Balkans. Just recently I biked with a friend through one of the newest countries in the world! I happened to meet that friend thru Couchsurfing; I was his first host!

-I'm not vegetarian but I don't cook a lot of meat.
-I like to eat out but like cooking at home too- that is w/ company though!
-I've enjoyed coaching high school students in debate and
-I've taught English to beginner and intermediate students.
-I really like chess though I'm not that great at it.
-I really like learning about other cultures and enjoyed learning Macedonian.

PHILOSOPHY

Politics: positions- universal healthcare, support State-Child Health Insurance Plan (SCHIP) & the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), reduction in the growth rate of the defense budget, Iraq War Pullout in 2 years, policies that discourage excessive consumption at the expense of the environment (ex. tax rebates for hybrids)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

DC is a fun city despite its socially conservative facade. There is a nice blend of city life and nature here in the area so come on out.

Once upon a time, I lived in a small, remote town in Macedonia. Here is my description here on CS from when I hosted there:
My town has a medieval feel to it, there are some good hiking paths, "stone dolls" and a prehistoric observatory with rock art. And I'd like to share these with visitors.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted 6 people over the course of 8 months in my little town of 7k. I then couchsurfed in Eastern Europe and then finally in Vienna. I vowed to get back to hosting to 'return the favor' and more importantly, because I enjoy it, once I got settled in back in the U.S. I am back to the DC area.
