About Me
I relocated from Chicago to Melbourne, Australia in 2021 and would love to meet new people in this wonderful city!
As an open-minded, jovial and curious individual, I'm always looking to experience more of what this remarkable world has to offer, and what I can give in return. I love spreading positivity and doing my part to help those in need.
I'm keen and pretty quick to absorb new cultures via food, history, locals and maps, the last one being somewhat of an obsession. Other crazes include football (soccer), museums, climate change and reuse/ reduce, live music, wildlife, nature/sunsets, documentaries and Thor.
I used to volunteer at a no-kill pet shelter in Chicago during my free time, where I helped take care of sick/ abandoned dogs to get them on the road to fostering and adoption. I currently volunteer with a climate advocacy non-profit in Australia.
I strongly believe that:
If you fail the Monday morning success test, try it again on Friday.
It's never too late to learn something new.
Kindness always shines through.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The opportunity to meet big-hearted, compassionate, talented, curious people from all over the globe, even from the comfort of my home and city. I love hosting genuine surfers and sharing experiences. Of course, I'd love to have this reciprocated when I'm traveling, so I can experience a town/city/country through the eyes of locals.
Essentially, any interaction with beings of this world is an opportunity to learn and grow. I have established close bonds with several CSers because this community is amazing.
Also, I'd like to get together with friends and decipher the last 15 minutes of Interstellar.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Paragliding in the close vicinity of an active volcano in South America.
Took on a 6 month volunteering project in a remote village of Tamil Nadu, India, educating women from low-income families on microfinance and entrepreneurship. I've taught English and Math to middle and high school children at an orphanage.
Teach, Learn, Share
CS is such a great platform for knowledge exchange, whether it be language, cultural, food, sport, music, art, travel, work/study or simply our philosophies and attitudes towards living a meaningful life. Always willing to engage in any or all of the above.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to help in any way, shape or form. Good conversation, drinks, food, laughs and memories. I'm sure I'll have a lot to learn from you. I can teach you 4 Indian languages (Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu) and English. Cook Indian food (South or North Indian dishes).
