About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy this life to the maximum

ABOUT ME

I have lived and grown up in India, a country with a lot of diversity in cultures and traditions and this has always fascinated me. The zeal to know more cultures and places, to know the history and geography practically and not in books is what I am enthusiastic about. I love adventures and travelling to places.

Apart from being a travelling enthusiast, I like to ride my bike, play outdoors and party on weekends. I consider myself jovial and amiable person although not an extrovert. So join in and we may have a lot of fun :)!!

PHILOSOPHY

I am living to see this world. Love travelling a lot and wish to die only when I know all the places and their cultures. Never want to say " I wish I could do this. "

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have both couch-surfed as well as hosted travelers. Apart from that, I attend potlucks and community meetings of couch-surfers in the city to meet new people and share their experiences. For last three years though, I was not very active on Couch-surfing because of my job.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have truly enjoyed each and every couchsurfing experience till date; whether it be surfing someone's couch or hosting travelers or meeting someone over a coffee or a beer. Of all the experiences, the most memorable is the one when I met Koen (a Dutch traveler) on a train in India while traveling with my friend. Although Koen did not know about couchsurfing then, we offered to host him and show him around the city of Calcutta. After two days of fun and frolic, debates over the political and economic scenarios in the world and various cooking sessions, we became good friends. Later he also came to my college (southern India) to visit me for a couple of days.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - alternative rock, classic rock, grunge, blues, jazz.
Movies - watch a lot of them. Movies fascinate me in general.
Books - Love reading books as a hobby. Too many to list down here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The two most amazing things that I have seen are Aurora Borealis and the Gurudongmar Lake which is one of the highest lakes in the world. The lake is completely frozen for throughout the year except for a tiny portion right in the center of the lake as there is a hot geyser underneath. It is an extremely captivating and mind-blowing view.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share my culture, teach Hindi and cooking authentic Indian cuisine (with a lot of spices). On the other hand, I am open to learning anything and everything.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Nepal, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In
