Sobre Mim

I'm a California kid, born and raised. Indian-American. Closest label I'd say is that I'm an outgoing, fun-loving nerd.

In July 2014, I decided it was time to break familiarity and comfort. I'd be working for almost 5 years on and off after graduating and telling myself I'd "one day" go on a trip and live abroad. I finally realized if I don't do it now, I may never. I packed my stuff and ventured off!

Though I initially left for the aspects of solo travel (time alone, introspection, meditation), I soon realized that connecting with interesting people has been the most meaningful.

I love listening to and making music (especially live shows), yoga/meditation, adventure sports and reading way too much non-fiction. One of my favorite aspects of traveling is wandering around a new city/area and observing. Sightseeing isn't really my thing anymore, but I do enjoy sharing it with others.

My philosophy is always changing, but I've started to center my life around making each day fun in some small or big way. Some laughs, love and good moments is all I really need. I truly believe that there is a deep potential in all of us that we are bound to discover and express. I try to express it in myself each day, and bring it out in others.

I like people who have deep experiences to share, but don't take themselves too seriously. People who can be real one moment, and joking the next.

My latest obsession is reading and exploring aspects of masuclinity and femininity in our age.

An FYI - I'm vegetarian, but have absolutely no problem with others eating meat. Just a personal choice. I wouldn't mind trying a taste of any local dish even if it has meat to get an idea of what you eat! Just a taste though :)

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

As I said, I've realized that one of the most meaningful experiences for me is making deep connections as I travel. I want to know how locals live and get off the beaten path of backpackers and tourists (though I do enjoy that from time to time). I love learning about different lifestyles and sharing whatever half-baked bits of wisdom I have as well.

I really hope to share a glimpse of how Californians are and offer anything else I can - new perspectives, music (carrying around a lot on my laptop) and most importantly, laughs!
