ABOUT ME

I am - as I've always feared I'd turn out to be - mediocre. I am mostly quiet, retrospective and serious. I like reading, thinking, strumming the guitar, listening to Pink Floyd. Why Pink Floyd? Well, Chris Rock (comedian) gave the best answer, 'You are always going to love the music you were listening to when you first got laid'.

I still smoke. I am single, often lazy and a late-riser i.e. I'm a night person.

I love Arrested Development, The Wire, Lost, Narcos, Breaking Bad, GOT and am just beginning to catch up with The Americans. I don't get Community or Walking Dead.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS: Holy Qur'an, 100 Years of Solitude, Midnight's Children, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird etc.

MUSIC: Pink Floyd, The Beatles, U2, Guns n' Roses, Metallica - but also, Alanis Morissette, Erykah Badu, Norah Jones (I discovered at 22, that I was prejudiced against female vocalists and have been trying to compensate ever since). Lots of Bangla music including Arnob (best musician alive), Warfaze, Cryptic Fate, Nemesis (old line-up), Lalon etc.

MOVIES: Braveheart, Shawshank Redemption, Gladiator, Invention of Lying, The Big Fish etc. I hate that all notable recent movies are sci-fi, superhero or remakes - but I love the Dark Knight.

The search for validation and the search for Truth are not the same. The world over, there is only one Truth. And that Truth is universally desired, yet also universally feared.

Wherever I have traveled, I have seen people seek little fragments of Truth in desperate attempts to understand. And the world over, they were just as confused and lost as I.

We are all brothers in ignorance; brothers in quests.
