About Me
I like nature, good food, doing sports and of course meeting nice people. The interrail trip at least once a year became compulsory to me!
Probably travelling and cooking are my biggest passions! While I like to prepare my travels with a proper planning, I cook mostly freestyle and often invent new dishes with my crazy ideas 🙃 (Note, that I like proper planning doesnt mean that I always find the time for that. So, dear potential host, dont be surprised when you get a short term request 🙈🙃)
To me, good and proper communication is key. So, I always try to answer within a few hours, and Im glad when you do it too 🙂
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting interesting people from all around the world, listening to their stories, finding out their passions, and also sharing mine.
Couchsurfing can make each trip more authentic! It offers the great chance to meet open locals, to find out how they live, and to get inspiration. Inspiration for travels, for recipes, or just how to look at things!
Especially my solotrips have been enriched a lot by using Couchsurfing!
I also like to host or meet travellers in my area. It is a little bit like travelling without going somewhere, without taking vacations. Always a great and welcome contrast to daily routine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I know, all the people puts a lot of small stories here. I can't. This section is declared as "one great experience I made" ( I know it is a little bit different in english, but I like more this one by one translated from german). So, as a swiss guy I just can't put several 😂. So therefore one long story instead of several short:
Never really travelled by hitchhiking, always took a train/boat/bus. But, in Sept 20, I visited the seven Rila lakes, and there was no transport down to the next village with bus connections from the cable car station. So, I asked people there walking to their cars if they can take me with them to this village. Already the second family I asked agreed!
But then we got some delay before we could start, because they were awaiting their relatives. So it was clear that Ill miss the last bus, but they directly said, no problem there will be a city along the route from where I can take the bus. They tried to call the station there to make sure that there was a bus at this time. Nobody picked up the phone there. So they just decided to take me with them to Sofia with the intermediate stop at the wife's parents. And there they offered me everything. Fish her father catched freshly that day in the river, yoghurt, honey, apples, pears, cake, beer! Incredibly nice people. I was overwhelmed by their hospitality!
What I Can Share with Hosts
To me, hosting and surfing is almost the same! Both give the most valuable "thing" — their time! Sure, the host also has some additional effort. But in the end, hosting is like travelling without moving. It's about meeting interesting and inspiring people from everywhere. That's why I host, but also why I surf after using many years just using the hangouts function of Couchsurfing.
So, to me its clear, hosting and surfing, its about undertaking something together, having great talks, and spend an amazing time together🙂
