About Me

CURRENT MISSION

snuffle about some more nature reserves

ABOUT ME

I love learning about animals and plants, and being excited, and free (non-exploitative) things and sometimes coming up with awesome quotes by accident.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life because I was born but it's also pretty cool! I want to enjoy as much as I can but not forget about everyone else. and I want to listen and watch the lovely things and animals and plants and fungi and grow and learn and ask.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Be excellent to each other...and party on, dudes!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only couchsurfed twice, once in London and once in Ambleside(except with people I met offline of course of which I've done a bit) but I would love to meet more people in the UK and Europe and maybe even further someday (I would love to get there overland and sea and see stuff slowly, especially all the veggie cafes out there)and have a totally different experience to what people see on the surface of a country.

Interests

Veganism and animal rights
Environmental protection and education
Ecology in general
Circus and juggling
Bright colours, especially blue green and purple and rainbows

All the animals and their noses. Cats included. Squirrels!
Activism on issues including environment, anti war and anti-nuclear, women's rights (so feminism but not to the exclusion of men), asylum rights etc.
Laughing, sometimes hysterically
Finding gardens and green spaces
Growing things, never done enough of it
Learning practical skills so I can help people and be sustainable in the not too distant future
Eating (not animals or their secretions)
Musical discovery (listening but hopefully playing when I can get around to learning)
Reading graphic novels/comics in particular but also non-illustrated books(see below)

Music, Movies, and Books

Graphic novels/comic books, especially Nate Powell and others I have yet to discover.

Animation ,independent and rough (not in the violent sense) stuff

Indpendent and foreign films- one of my favourite films is the Edukators and I've recently seen Baghdad Cafe which was good. sort of couchsurfy too!

Random stuff.

Also books about anarchist politics and direct action and environmental history and ecology and mamimals.
And fantasy fictions, the more non violent and animaly/elfy the better (e.g the Hobbit/Redwall and many others, also adventure gamebooks and Zelda (the game)!

and many other types of literature. if it's in a forest it helps though. And kids' books! They're all about animals and equality and growing things and they have beautiful pictures!I never want to forget about those things when I grow up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One foragey rainbowy day in the forest of Sheffield...there were definitely 6 of us!

All the stars and ufos/satellites when lying in the middle of a stone circle at the big green gathering in the middle of the night...

3 red squirrels feeding at the same time on a tree shelf outside a caravan in Keswick.by a river!

Beautful ancient universal symbols carved into stone near Tara in Ireland

Teach, Learn, Share

I juggle and think I can draw reasonably well and I'm supposed to know some stuff about biology and ecology. Also have experience of being vegan! I think I'm quite good at accents too but not sure if that's a skill to share!

I'd love to learn how to make things with wood and get more inspired by (vegan) cooking and also fruit and vegetable growing (organically, preferably permaculture too!). Hopefully we can share at some point!
