About Me

CURRENT MISSION

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine

ABOUT ME

My husband and I are originally from the Dakotas. We've lived in Taiwan for the last 6 years and love it! Our family doesn't come to visit often, and so we'd enjoy having couchsurfers visit.

I am a vegetarian, and my husband, Zach, eats meat when we eat out. Zach loves all sports (indoor and outdoor). I am willing to try most things.
We love humorous people and love it when people are random. I'd like to believe that we are friendly and open-minded, but you will have to be the judge of that. We're interested in meeting new people from around the world and hearing about their travels. We are Seventh-day Adventists so please keep in mind that we observe the Sabbath.

PHILOSOPHY

Never eat more than you can lift.- Miss Piggy

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've couchsurfed in Europe and Asia and loved it! We've hosted in Taiwan and have enjoyed inviting people into our home.

Interests

My interests: traveling, running- someday I want to do a marathon, laughing, baking, photography, dumpster diving, reading, writing letters, jumping on beds, singing with my students, eating muffin tops, writing in my journal, attempting to learn Chinese. I've never tried drugs and plan not to. I am addicted to Frosted Animal Crackers. Telephone booths and gnomes intrigue me. I think God is amazing.
Zach's interests: Star Wars, snowboarding, wakeboarding, rock climbing, football, basketball- all sports, scuba diving, coaching basketball, playing guitar, being in nature, singing, animals (his sister is a zookeeper!), intellectual conversations, and hanging out with friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friend Laura and I once bench pressed more weight than a 35 year old man.
I once spent 3 days sleeping in an airport in Australia.
Taught 3rd grade for a year in the Marshall Islands.
Grew up on a farm milking cows.
Went swimming with an elephant in Thailand.
Was proposed to with a room full of balloons and a scavenger hunt.
Hitch hiked everywhere I went while in the Marshall Islands.
Slept on an isolated beach curled up to a stray dog for warmth.
