Chi sono

I'm a Brazilian student of Journalism and Communication in general at UFF. I'm living back with my family at the city that I grew up, Niterói - RJ.
At the moment, I have no way to host anyone, but I would love to show my city and stroll in Rio de Janeiro with people coming here!

Between febreaury and august of 2016 I've been living at Porto - Portugal to study Comunication for Companies at Politécnico do Porto.
During the time that I did exchange, I received more than 30 groups at my home! Was so greatful knew people of many cities and countries!
I did my first Couchsurfing experience in Madrid, in the house of 4 brazilian students. Was a really good experience, so I was motivated to do the same! :)

I went to Morocco on a tour with my roommates and other friends and I really enjoy camping in the desert. On this trip, I was out of cell phone and loved the experience of traveling uncontested from the rest of the world! This trip was remarkable in my decision to follow the road to veganism. I was a vegetarian since I was 15 and decided to go through the desert on foot instead of going on a camel because they were clearly tired because they had already taken several tourists that day. I reflected a lot about how humans interact with nature. We are so destructive and we enslave so many species ... I do not like it, I want to follow paths in opposition to it.

In June / 2016 I went to the Algarve on a weekend with some friends and I had another good experience with couchsurfing. After that, when my first big trip home couchsurfing members or with the Brazilians who are studying in Europe and that I made contact by a Facebook group. It was very interesting and I want to try again. For 15 days, we went to Paris, Lille, Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Amsterdam and Cologne.

In July / 2016 I took another trip, but I slept in a hostel in Prague and Krakow. The other cities we went to were Hamburg, Berlin, Vienna and Budapest. As I really like the couchsurfing philosophy and the friend who was with me thinks the same way I do, we try to meet local people during the trip, even in the cities where we stayed in hostel.

In Kostrzyn Nad Odra - Poland I had a really different experience! A girl a roommate met by couchsurfing invited him to go to the Woodstock festival. He refused because he had other plans for the date, but he introduced me and my friend to her! We met her at the festival and spent many pleasant moments together. All his friends were really lovely and interesting and on the two days me and my friend slept in the tent with their friends! I was amazed to see how there are so many nice people in the world!

I love horror stories, I prefer horror books than horror movies, because I'm a little shocked by macabre scenes, so I'd rather read about why in my mind the scenes are softer and the mysteries remain epilating! :) My favorite horror writer is Edgar Alan Poe and my favorite horror director is Alfred Hitchcock. Oh! I love Agatha Christie too, but I've probably read almost all her books!

I like to see human behavior, feelings and mind without masks or shame. I like how Hermann Hesse, Tchékov, Tolstoy and Anais Nin describe situations and love talking about books. I'm a potterhead! X) I'm not a classic nerd, I do not really like to spend my time with electronics, I prefer to stay in open spaces, close to nature. I love staying in a park with friends, playing cards, drinking some beer ...

I really like to talk about politics and I'm open to different opinions, but I have some limits: I can not support or relativize fascist, racist, macho, homophobic and all kinds of exclusionary discourses. Above all, I believe in human rights and the struggle for better living conditions for those who need it most.

I grew up in a metropolitan city in a middle class Brazilian family and here in Brazil the social differences are scary. Many people who grew up beside me can not see how privileged we are and we must fight for everyone to have access to education, health and culture. Unfortunately, some selfish people do not care about other people's living conditions and I honestly do not want to be friends with selfish people.
