About Me

You could say that mothers always know best. And my mother always calls me a "tuuliviiri", a weather vane, cause of my sponteiniosity. And also a "sunnuntailapsi", a sunday child - a sort of a happy-go-lucky with a mindset that everything's gonna be alright eventually. Almost everything can be seen as a new experience!

I tend to get excited about things in a heartbeat and suddenly - for example - you might just have a party of 100 people invited or surprise flight tickets to South Asia.

I might drive with a (seriously) broken bike for 8 years and use a decade-old computer, but when I eat, drink and enjoy myself tend to do it properly.

I wish to find beauty and excitement in all our everyday surroundings. I'm always after a new taste - I rarely order the same thing twice at a restaurant. And I tend to look for beautiful things everywhere. My boyfriend is always very entertained when hiking with me cause I'm stopping on the trail side every 20 metres to marvel at some new species of flowers.

Everything in moderation - I don't want one single thing to define me as a whole. This applies to your career, diet, sports and everything some people tend to be obsessing about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Superb way to meet like-minded, mind-blowing people!

CS broadens the concept of travel! Can you say you've really explored a country if you didn't meet a single local?

Mainly we've been using my boyfriend's account because I've been ridiculously lazy to update mine.. :D here's a link: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/tpsa

Interests

I'd like to say I am generally interested in the world!

Everything from artsy to adventurous, cooking to climbing, deep house to deep discussions, longboarding to Leo Tolstoy, gardening to gin tonics, hiking to hammocking - I'm up for it!
And of course seeing and experiencing as much of our amazing planet that I can.

I love to listen to people talking and sharing their views and passions and vice versa! I'm very lucky to have known so many interesting and inspring people in my life so far!

Music, Movies, and Books

Deep house, house, some trance and techno, electronic.

Dostojevski, Tolstoi, Hemingway, Rosa Liksom

Lars von Trier's Melancholia is my all time favourite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered in a medical project in rural villages in India. Travelled alone in India for 3 months. Met amazing people, slept in the slums surrounding Delhi, crashed a few weddings...

Inherited and immersed in my grandmother's library full of beautiful literary classics.

Danced so hard I fell through a glass floor at a club. :D During summer slept more nights in a tent at different music festivals than inside the house.

Sunrises in Cappadocian hot air balloon in Turkey, on top of Sri Pada in Sri Lanka and the Sun Gate in Inca Trail

Our first gap year 2015-2016 and travelling for 7 months in South and Central America and Cuba! Hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Slept in a hammock in the jungle in Peruvian Amazon. Visited the Galapagos Islands and snorkeled with sea lions, sea turtles, manta rays and sharks. Attended the Barranquilla carneval, the second largest carneval in the world. Seeing the Rolling Stones play in Havanna for 500 000 people. And a lot more!

Second gap year 2017-2018 and travelling for 5 months. I volunteered at an animal rescue center on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Slept in the rainforest, did an ultrasound for an ocelot and assisted in a surgery for a vulture. Babysitting baby sloths, baby monkeys and baby ant eaters was pretty lovely as well. After that we did 3 months in the US! First we were backcountry skiing in the mountains surrounding Salt Lake City and enjoying the best powder snow on Earth for 2 months!! After that roadtripping for a few weeks on the West coast. After that 3 weeks in Japan admiring the cherry blossoms and travelling around the country. And lastly a quick visit to Beijing!

Somehow managed myself into medical school. And already finished 4 years of the 6 years in total.
