Couchsurfing is an incredible way to travel cheaply, meet wonderful people, and get a unique taste of a culture.
In order to do this though, you need to write a good couchsurfing request so a host actually accepts you.
You will greatly improve your chances of being accepted by sticking to the guidelines discussed today.
You communicate a genuine interest in the host, why you decided to message them, your plans for the visit, and why you’re a good guest.
Understand it’s a real person on the other end who is offering a stranger to stay in their home for FREE!
Be grateful for their consideration and the opportunity to learn from each other. Every host is unique, which is why a generic boring message is not effective.
Everyone’s profile is a bit different, especially in detail and what they decide to include.
I understand reading many profiles and tailoring an individual message is more time-consuming than a hotel or hostel, but I promise it’s worth the extra effort.
