About Me

Hey, I'm Rajath, studying in delft and staying in the Hague. I'm usually working most of the time but when I want a break, travelling can be a big stress buster. I'm also a big fan of food, whether it's eating or cooking. Maybe we can exchange some recipes? ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel when I know I have a good number of days to get somewhere and explore. I'm very keen on travelling as I feel travelling gives you a large breakthrough into other cultures and you get to go to great places , eat local food and meet fun people along the way. This break-away from mainstream travelling makes it more enjoyable and memorable. Couchsurfing seems like a great way to do that, with a local host telling you more about the place and culture, something other than your online reviews, your interactions with a hotelier or a local you'd bump into. It's also pocket friendly when you're a student. :P I would love a guest who could accomodate me in his schedule and show me around a bit.

Hosting here will be a challenge as I stay with a colleague and the apartment is quite small. I would be very much accomodating but the japanese hosuing works only long term and hence, I myself in a pinch.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love multiple genres, but I'm a fan of indie, rock, some metal bands, especially prog rock, metal like dreamtheater. i'm also a fan of post rock bands like mogwai, maybeshewill, sigur ros,Radiohead. A big fan of the classics and have heard songs across genres. Feel free to recommend some bands to me. I love reading and watching Anime, and have watched anime over all genres, and while I like fantasy and thriller genres the best, I like the stories told by studio ghibli movies. I read very occassionally and have read a few books, science fiction and thriller again is where I focus on, so do give your recommendations without spoiling it ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Live on my own for the past year. It's been an amazing experience after staying at home with my parents for 22 years. Its a remarkable personal achievement. Travelling to Cinque terre in Italy blew my mind with the clear and star-studded skies and am looking for more experiences like that.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic Indian languages and also would love to learn mroe about local cultures and foods wherever I trave; and share my love for food one day.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A fun accomodating guest. I can cook a few dishes, am learning italian cuisine and I know quite a bit of indian cuisine. With the right ingredients I could whip up some good dishes for a lunch or a dinner someday. I love cooking as well. I have a few travel stories of my own and we could share them with yours over a couple of beers.
