Soy prof de sociología. Ahora estoy en Colombia para mejorar mi español, explorar, y aprender.

I've lived a lot of different places in the US and like to be able to go everywhere. I've been Couchsurfing/ hosting for 10+ years - I'm less active now, but I still enjoy meeting CSers.

Some of the info below is old, I'm using this site again now for the first time in several years.

I sometimes host surfers,sometimes go to CS meetups, organized an event for the 2012 Baltimore Couchcrash, and organized many local CS events when I lived in North Carolina the first time. Wrote an article on couchsufing for a sociology magazine, plus one that used to be online at http://tinyurl.com/2rxmcd, and was interviewed in an article on couchsurfing at http://tinyurl.com/2nhv9q . I can connect you with the 2nd largest ecstatic dance community in the mainland US, here in Durham-Carrboro.

I'm studying Spanish and French. I'm conversational in Spanish, and capable of basic conversations in French. I'd love to hear your language-learning tips and tricks, and to share mine.

I know a lot of sociology, so I can explain some social patterns in ways you wouldn't expect.

I've been a CS'er since 2005, so I can tell you about its evolution.

I lived at Twin Oaks, America's oldest non-religious income-sharing commune, for a year, and can tell you about that, too.
