About Me
Hi, I am a 23-year old computer science researcher. I love travelling and roaming around.
I especially like meeting new people and striking up a conversation.
I realise I cannot stay in one place.
I feel the need to be free, and the need to travel.
I do not like travel as the idea of a tourist, to just sight-see some touristic places for Instagram posts.
My idea of travel is to truly get the feeling of a place, by staying for a while, meeting locals, and living like locals. Not even do local cultural stuff, but really JUST LIVE a normal life in a new culture, a new environment with new people. I like to think that the whole world is my playground.
I've met so many people, and everyone has been so nice, I hope they feel the same about me.
I have a liberal philosophy on the verge of being an anarchist, but I do not subscribe to the sometimes violent and really carefree interpretations usually depicted. I believe people should be allowed to do what they want, unless they trample on the freedoms and rights of others, or exploit them. I really believe in freedom and independence.
You can get more formal specific information about me from my webpage: raks0009.github.io
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meet new people, have fun, explore the world through local lens and not as a tourist.
Often I'm on a low-budget since I'm a poor researcher ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
Landscape in the Mist is my favourite movie. I appreciate many genres of cinema, often the alternative and not-so-commercial kinds.
I am an Indian hip-hop fan. India has been producing some amazing interpretations of hiphop with local elements, flavours, and understanding. I made some videos for some Mumbai-based rappers, who are now good friends.
That being said, I also appreciate many other forms of music, and art.
One of my amazing experiences has been roaming around in Roma, with no plan, not even any internet, just a map I got from the hostel reception, and stumbling on the Roma Quadriennale called Fuori, and spending almost 3 hours exploring the amazing collection of art.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Published many research papers in undergrad
Went to a country with absolutely no plans, friends, or ideas about what I'm gonna do there, or a place to live (I tried couchsurfing, but all hosts I talked to were unavailable)
Somehow, had a great time, and made many friends. I like how things just work out.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you many things about Indian politics, computer science, Mathematics, philosophy, and English.
I want to learn French and playing the harmonica at the moment.
I share everything I can with people I trust and love.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking skills, cleaning, good stories, great friendship, conversation, good vibes.
