I've been living the last 7 years out on Lopez Island, a small island with 2000 residents in NW Washington state. I spend my time working on farms, building, gardening, sailing, firefighting, playing music... now I'm traveling to see more of the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To find places to stay that I can connect with people along the way! Though I have not hosted couch surfers I always enjoyed sharing the island with people passing through.

Elephant Revival is my favorite band, I really love so many different types of music. Something for everytime / mood!
There are so many good books out there that I love, most recently 2312 by Kim Stanley Robinson, and I just reread Dune, a long time favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

All in the eyes of the beholder I suppose! I've crewed a sailboat from the Puget Sound, WA down to San Francisco. It took about two weeks, the open ocean is incredible. There were 3 of us on board a 42 foot steel schooner. Full sail in the starlight... nothing like it!!

I can teach guitar, djembe drum.. up to an intermediate level! Just hobbies, I'm not a pro but I play a lot! I can share my years of organic farming experience, and life in a small island community. I'm working on learning spanish.
