CURRENT MISSION
Being intentional versus incidental
ABOUT ME
I haven't been able to host in ages just due to different living arrangements, but I finally have my own place and can't wait to get surfers! I realize I might not get too many being south of Nashville in Columbia, but it's a really great city that I've come to love. I really want to share it with whomever wants to visit it.
I work for Groove Life, which is a silicone ring company with a heart for Jesus and adventure! I love to hike and kayak and enjoy a local pint. I have 3 dogs that keep me very active. When I'm not out with them, I am gardening. On rainy days you can find me watching reruns of The Office, Frasier, Friends, or It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
PHILOSOPHY
It be like that sometimes
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed once but have hosted many times! I just can't get over how cool the whole concept of couchsurfing is. My life has been so positively impacted by the people I've encountered while participating in this, and I can't wait to see what's to come.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't even remember how I first learned about CS, thank you to whomever that was! I first signed up when I was in college at UT to surf for the Alabama vs. Tennessee game in Tuscaloosa. I've only surfed once, but I've hosted quite a few folks. Knoxville was such a wonderful hub for travelers, so I got to a lot for one summer. Since then, my living situation hasn't permitted it. Despite that, the heartbeat of CS is so cool and I am all about the traveler's culture.
Interests
Trivia! Traveling! Recreating, good music, dog walkin', hot tubs, hammocking, horses, paddling, hiking, and literature. I own a banjo but don't know how to play it; I want to correct that. I love to cook and drink wine and snack while doing so.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Beatles is my all-time favorite band. 2nd to them are the blues and jazz. I love recent stuff like the Revivalists, Cage the Elephant, and Beck. Bluegrass, any classic rock, folk, reggae. Pretty much I like everything.
Dead Poet's Society, Harry and Maude, Amelie, Beauty and the Beast, Breakfast Club, Pride and Prejudice, A Clockwork Orange, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, The Greatest Showman
The Sun Also Rises, A Sand County Almanac, the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, Little Women, The Great Divorce, and many others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One summer when I was in college in Knoxville, I worked in western North Carolina in the Nantahala Gorge. A group of us hiked to this fire tower in the Smoky Mountains and stayed there overnight. We woke up at sunrise and had a 360 panoramic view of the sun coming up over the mountains.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach things! Teaching is how one best learns : ) I am so excited about trees and wildlife and the environment in general, I've taught about it in several of my jobs. Ask me about nature facts! (though my knowledge is mostly limited to Tennessee)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I feel strongly about stewardship of our natural areas and love going out into the woods for a good saunter. I know a ton of trivial facts and like to share them. I am honest, sometimes to a fault. If you can deal with these or even enjoy them, please let's hang out! If not, sorry not sorry.
