About Me

I'm an engineer who's primary interest is helping people lead healthy lives. I'm also a bit of an workaholic who splits his time between developing the next generation of health focused wearables @ Fitbit and my own fitness.

One of my passions that I'm trying to spend more time on is travel. My time on this planet is short and I just know I have to see as much of this world as I can in the time I have left!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In past travel experiences, I stayed in hostels and primarily interacted with fellow travelers. I've heard great things about CS from friends and wanted to see what it's all about!

This is the first time I've created an account, specifically for my trip to Barranquilla this February! I'm excited to help show people around San Francisco as well!

Interests

Currently trying out Aerial Silks and Biking.
Aerial Silks - To get an idea of what that is, check this out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHtBktN6D4Y
I'm working on being as awesome as she is!

I've spent quite a bit of time in the past surfing, dancing hip hop, and eating as many new types of foods as I can find.

I'm also a pretty good chef when a slow cooker becomes involved :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - Science Fiction is an amazing thing. The War of the Worlds by HG Wells, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov. Fantasy is also pretty neat. 1Q84 by Haruki Muraki was mesmerizing. Check out my goodreads for a full list - https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/13667677-ram-muthiah

Movies - Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless , Truman Show, Blade Runner, and more ordinary titles like Iron Man. Not exactly a movie but an animated series about Time Travel - Stein's Gate. Firefly is also amazing. I'm also a sucker for English Detective TV series like Hercule Poirot and Foyle's War.

Music - Some alternative rock but for the most part part musically illiterate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo'd a 3 week trip through Thailand and Cambodia. A friend was supposed to join me but dropped out at the last minute (no woes, I'm a big boy). I just switched my plans to stay in hostels and met so many amazing people and saw so many amazing things! Angkor Wat is a mesmerizing place. The Full Moon Party was downright crazy!

And skydiving off the coast of Santa Cruz! That was scary :)
