About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring myself and being aware of life. Sharing with my family and friends. Meeting new people, communicating.

ABOUT ME

I am very good at listening and quite open-minded. It's difficult to make me angry and I am more interested in personal experiences than in things. I prefer to experience a town by walking its streets and meeting its people than by visiting all the touristic attractions.

I'm not religious at all, but I consider every independent movie-theater a kind of "temple", love trying new foods, enjoy singing, and wish I could play guitar.

PHILOSOPHY

I respect everybody and learn from any situation.

I live with my partner (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/angie_markou).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be a good contact in town and I also host from time to time. When I travel, I use CS as a way to contact with other travelers and locals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted several travelers and it has been a great experience.

In 2009-2010 I spent 3 months in New York City and thanks to the local CouchSurfing community I could meet a lot of really nice, interesting and funny people.
I have attended many events and I have also organized 2 of them: the first was the "Manhattan walkathon", where a group of CouchSurfers walked the entire length of Manhattan from North to South.

The second one was a cooking event at my place in China Town, where I cooked Spanish "paella" and a few CouchSurfers brought wine, desert and the will to wash the dishes.

In 2011 I spent 3 months in Buenos Aires and CS made it easier for me to have a social life during my stay.

From 2013 to 2017 I spent most of my time in Toronto, Canada, and CS was a great way to meet people.

In Córdoba (my hometown) I organize events from time to time.

Interests

Human communication, languages, culture, cinema, music, cooking, politics, street markets, crafts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like so many movies, music styles and books that I wouldn't know where to start it all.

A few examples:

Casablanca, Paris-Texas, Der Himmel über Berlin, Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto, To kill a mockingbird, Good bye Lenin!, Amelie, Taxi Driver, Manhattan, Annie Hall, The Philadelphia story, The Godfather, Apocalypse now, El extraño viaje, Funny games...

Silvio Rodríguez, Ayo, Luis Eduardo Aute, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Amstrong, Tracy Chapman, Yann Tiersen, Chopin, Mozart, João Gilberto, Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday, Django Reinhardt, Bebe, Vicente Amigo, Violeta Parra, Carlos Gardel...

Cien años de soledad, Siddhartha, Die verlorene Ehre der Katherina Blume, Jakob der Lügner, 2666, Frankenstein, San Manuel Bueno mártir, Brave new world...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching into my own emotions. Walking the entire length of the Manhattan island with a group of couchsurfers. Walking and swimming up the river Acheron in Greece.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to teach you some Spanish, and I can show you how I cook.

I would like to learn how you cook or any other thing you may be good at.
