ABOUT ME

Born in Los Angeles, California, I grew up in the beach town of Santa Barbara with my mother and sister. We lived in the mountains with no electricity. I spent my days hiking the hills, making forts and caves to play in. I was scared of girls for awhile. My family moved to Grass Valley, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains when I was 11 years old. That sucked for awhile, and then I made friends. I hung out with a lot of older kids and respected the elders around me for the wisdom that they can pass on. I lived in the "House of 54" during high school, frequently ditching classes to hang out at the Yuba River or the skateboard park. Extended family - that is, a supportive community - is vital to my wellbeing (and human survival though hardship). I abhor materialism and superficiality. I love music: jazz, hiphop, punk and Simon and Garfunkel. I want to create a more sacred, just and sustainable world. Change begins with you.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is like painting. You take the colors you're given and the colors you can find, then use those colors to actively create something. Sometimes the creation is what you visualize, sometimes it is scarcely close. To give form to nothingness, you need to have faith in yourself, have fun with the process, and be determined to see the vision through to creation.
