About Me

I grew up on a small family-owned farm in a tiny town in the middle of North Carolina, U.S.A., and recently graduated from university after four years, ready to travel! I spent eleven weeks this past summer backpacking in Japan after graduation (LOVED IT!!) and have been working and traveling a little before the end of the year and my plans to return to Europe to WWOOF for four months with my boyfriend Nico. I also lived for four months in Sevilla, Spain, to study for a semester in college, and have also visited other countries as well. My family jokes that I can't seem to stay in one place for too long -- hence the reason I'm currently unable to host guests. :P

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My boyfriend Nico and I are traveling throughout Europe for four months to experience a cultural exchange with the hosts we stay with, whether it's through WWOOF or Couchsurfing. We have had friends who have used Couchsurfing before and have had a wonderful time so we wanted to have our own adventure when we are between WWOOF hosts but still make strong connections with locals. (He also has a Couchsurfing account and we are CS friends.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To me, the most amazing thing I've done is to hike the Dewa Sanzan (3 Sacred Mountains of Dewa) in Japan. It was an incredible three-day experience -- climbing the stone stairs to the top of Mt. Haguro and seeing its famous shrine, walking through the wetlands on Mt. Gassan and spending the night in a lodge on its peak, trekking along the paths on the side of Mt. Yudono. The view, and the fact that the word is so much bigger than just me, are things I'll never forget.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Fun stories, an ear to listen to any fun stories they'll have, flexibility, independence to do my own thing if my host is busy, and a lot of "thank yous"!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Portugal, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, United States
