Overview
About Me
Bonjour! My name is Ramya. I am first-generation American writer and educator (poetry, songwriting, short stories and more...) born and raised in New York. I love learning about new cultures, anything related to the arts, a good book and sharing stories over meals. I am very chill, laid-back, independent, clean and respectful. I love cooking for people, exploring nature and watching international films. I am drawn to building meaningful relationships and experiencing transformative life experiences. I always welcome a new hiking partner :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
During covid, I didn't get to travel in the ways I used to (for many obvious reason). This March, I'm gifting myself a trip to France and I find that experiencing countries through the lens/eyes of those who call it home is always the way to see it in its full glory.

Music, Movies, and Books
Films: Shawshank Redemption, Three Colors: Blue, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Main Hoon Na, My Girl and so so many more.
Music: Oh choosing a genre would be too restrictive. Music is limitless and I love spending time with any and every genre. Though lately I find myself drawn to: Bollywood, contemporary worship, opera and folk.
Books: tooo many books but I do adore anything written by James Baldwin & Haruki Murakami
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach poetry, songwriting, English
I can share basic cooking, personal stories and if one is open, prayer
I would love to learn French (or any language!), agriculture, and any new skill
What I Can Share with Hosts
