About Me

I'm a 28 years old Student (Political Science and Communication). Originally from Israel, but currently based in Amsterdam.

I'd taken a year+ off from uni for traveling the world, and as of now I've been traveling for over a year and a half.

I'd consider myself as an open minded, talkative person who like to be intellectually challenged.

Besides learning languages I also like to be active and go to lil adventures in the nature (as I'm more of an outdoors person but would never say no to a good party ;), get to know and make new friends, swimming, skateboarding, surfing, cycling, photography, technology and science, video games, music etc. I'm also a trained massotherapist.

In addition to fluently speaking English I'm also an intermediate speaker of Esperanto (keep on reading to know more about that special language) and natively speak Hebrew, currently learning Dutch and Japanese.

P.S.
I'm a vegan hope that won't be a problem :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been traveling the world for the last year through couchsurfing among the Esperanto community and believe it or not, thus far, I've not had to pay for accommodation for even one night.

So far, I've been having great experiences traveling by means of couchsurfing. For that reason I got to know people first hand while having the chance to see how their life and the life of the locals really looks like. With many of them I also had some very interesting conversations. I've become good friend with many of my hosts, and I could even find a lifelong friend among them!

Unfortunately, it seems like the Esperanto community in NZ isn't as big as in all the other places I've been to up until now, so I'll need to look for kind-hearted people who will be willing to host me outside of the Esperanto community. Hopefully, I could have similar experiences, like the ones I'd with the majority of my hosts from the Esperanto community, with other people as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd lived in an anarchist-naturist community in the industrial part of Amsterdam for a couple of months where there were nature festivals taking place frequently. I ended up there because I couldn't find any place to stay at in the city, and eventually it had turned out to be the highlight of the whole trip :)

My current trip: traveling through couchsurfing, and couchsurfing only, for a year now.

One thing I've learned during my travel so far is that most of the things shouldn't be planned in advance, as the best experiences will most likely to happen in a completely unexpected way anyway.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could cook delicious vegan food, give relexing massages, and try to help with computers\tech problems. As mentioned above I'm a fairly talkative person, so I wouldn't mind chatting about the experiences I've had so far while traveling the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd gladly teach Esperanto and explain how this amazing constructed international language could be used for traveling the world for a very long time (almost) for free.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Fiji, Japan, Mongolia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea

Countries I’ve Lived In

Israel, Netherlands
