My current mission is to keep breathing

ABOUT ME

I start with my first breath and dance around avoiding my last. My mission is to learn and work toward understanding. Realities are as personal as taste. The reality I aspire to is one of communicating. I listen with my eyes. I'm embarrassed that I only read, write, and speak english (though I'm confident that I can order beer in three or four.)
I'm an artist, through years of training and practice. I focus most of my energies on photography and painting. I will be honored to photograph all of my hosts and pass the files on in exchange for your kindness.

I've been an educator for many years; teaching adults, teenagers and students with special needs for over 20 years.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy... life is for the living. I don't want to die stupid. Empirical knowledge is far greater than anything I could read about in a book OR watch on the television. I like to be happy. To live, truly live, one must move with a sense of purpose. One of the highest purposes is to encourage community through communication. Talking is easy, listening may be difficult, understanding what we have in common far outweighs our differences makes this journey worthwhile.

Interessi

I enjoy seeing museums. IF I had a preference tho'... I would rather attend community gatherings. I'm all about experiencing the authentic culture of an area. I would much rather get lost in an area where I'm surrounded by locals than follow a tour guide with a flag in the midst of a sterile tourist environment.

Musica, film e libri

Eclectic taste. I appreciate most genre's of music... even those I haven't yet heard. I love the connections between art and music. (ummmmm, one favorite book was life of Pi.) (I also love most of Herman Hess, and... well there's a lot out there....)

I just took another breath. When I inhaled I imagined I would travel again soon. IS THERE ANYTHING MORE AMAZING THAN BEING ABLE TO IMAGINE DOING SOMETHING? First there was thought... pictures will follow!
