About Me

PLEASE NOTE- I am not in New York City. I am 4 hours away from NYC in upstate NY.

CURRENT MISSION

The only way we will break down barriers is to meet and learn from each other and build relationships. Traveling is a true education in its own right.

ABOUT ME

I consider myself a pretty happy, open person. I am curious and desire to keep exploring and learning. I work at our local Food Bank. In 2012 I finished my Master's degree in International Development but decided to apply those skills in the US. I live in the Finger Lakes region in the country.. I like to read, hike mountains, ski, road bike, explore, take road trips, and play old-time guitar and banjo. I am also passionate about learning languages. Oh, and travel is always good :P I pretty much spend my free time plotting my next trip. I am not a very girly-girl.
PHILOSOPHY

Wow, I think this is too deep of a question to write about in a small box. We can talk about it when we meet!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe one of the largest issues faced in the developed world is that of FEAR. Fear of the unknown, strangers, outsiders. CS dispels this fear and teaches us that not every random person is out there to harm you. Most people are in fact quite caring and considerate. You can open your home and still survive.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in Southeast Asia. I lived across the street from SCOTTOPIA "hostel" in Perth, Australia, where Scotty Joe regularly hosted couch surfers. This helped with my feelings of isolation and travel lust as I could meet all these people and hear about their experiences. Made the year much more interesting. Couchsurfing is amazing.
