ABOUT ME

I'm a 38 year old mother of 3. I've travelled quite extensively prior to having kids. I spent 7 years in the UK, which I partly miss.
I'm spontaneous, adventurous, friendly.
I love music, both going to concerts and performing them. I am a classically trained singer and a member of a local choir.
I read a lot and dabble with a bit of writing.
I'm fairly open and happy to discuss most things.
Non-smoker but will have an occasional drink. I.e. wine with meal.

PHILOSOPHY

I follow the Golden rule. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
Fairly simple and yet all that's needed.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I prefer to both host and be hosted. It's easier for me to do the hosting as I don't travel as much as I used to. I really enjoy various aspects of the cultural differences encountered when people of different backgrounds meet. Anything from food, dress codes, language and social skills. It's all fascinating!

So far I've hosted 3 times and it's been very interesting. I've had travellers from the US, Singapore and South Africa. In time I'm sure I'll be adding other nationalities to my list!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed with only one host, but repeatedly and if all hosts are as wonderful as she was, it would be just perfect!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most movies from documentaries to the far fetched fantasy. I don't see a lot of films, but when I do I thoroughly enjoy them.

I have a rather eclectic taste in music and will listen to most genres as long as there is something musical. Not too much of a fan of just noise and rhythm.

In books I tend to prefer reading crime most of the time, but will also read other stories, truth and fiction. I don't like reading translated books if the original language is English, then I will read them in the original. I find they lose a lot of their identity when translated.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving in the Maldives, weekend trip to South Africa for a wedding(!), safari in Kenya, riding a camel in Sahara are some on the top of the list....

I live and learn something new all the time and am always amazed at some of the knowledge others carry around. Anything you wish to impart I'll willingly receive!
