CURRENT MISSION
A mission? We just want to see the world, discover life, and help others to do the same
ABOUT ME
We are both in our mid-20's, have been together since summer of 2007, was married at the city hall on the 8th of August 2009. On December 4th 2010 our son Søren was born.
Gry is studying geology, with a special interest in sedimentology and petrology. She has a large rock collection and can tell a story about every rock or mineral that she has collected. The geological history of the earth is exiting and she likes to see the evidence of geological processes in nature.
Nils has a Bachelor degree in physics with some courses in astronomy and philosophy. He is now a PhD student in the history of science writing on a thesis concerning the history of climate modeling.
Søren is a happy and trusting boy. He is talkative, likes to charm everyone and make new friends. He's main interests are digging in sand, drawing, music and reading books and he has a special thing for tractors and other machines with big wheels.
We like to spend time together and use a lot of time cooking, baking and eating. We do not have a TV, but we quite often go to the movies, theater, opera or a concert. We enjoy having friends over to talk and share a pot of tea, good beer or a bottle of wine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have hosted a a number of people in Aarhus and had a fantastic summer 2010 road trip in the US meeting many great couchsurfers. Since Søren was born we have decreased our activity but have hosted a few times. As we move in February, stay three months in the USA in spring and expect a second baby in around July 1st, we cannot host the most of 2013.

Music, Movies, and Books
As for books most of what we read is related to our studies. We both like litterature which discuss aspects of society or gives good descriptions of the personal development of the characters. An author like Mika Waltari has written some really good novels on earlier societies. Our shelf contains authors like Tolstoy, Dostojevsky, Eco, Orwell, Huxley and various nordic authors. Tolkien fills almost a shelf of his own. Cartoons like Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes and Schulz's Peanuts must also be mentioned and so must The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
In music we like folk, world, jazz and classical. A troubadour with his or her guitar is always good, and so is Queen.
When going to the movies we rarely see ordinary blockbosters but prefer films with themes like what we read in books. Should we mention well-known film makers the Coen brothers, Tim Burton, Woody Allen and Lars von Trier comes into mind.
