About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Take life as it comes and have fun doing it

ABOUT ME

I would like to think I am a rather open minded, easy going person.

I like to laugh.

I like to keep myself busy and do things.

I can't spell.

I like music and art but get annoyed with the wankyness that goes with it at times.

PHILOSOPHY

Live a good life. Be nice to people because it is the right thing to do not because of fear of consequence. Be open minded. Try new things. If some one thinks differently try to work out why they think that way before dismissing the idea. Generally don't be a jerk.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:

I like punk, ska, folk, alternative (a bit of everything really).

I use to play guitar in a folk punk band called Gentlemen's Riot (along the lines of The Pouges, Mutiny, Flogging Molly, Drop Kick Murphys, etc) and also use to sing in a D.I.Y. punk band called The Flying Rats. If you are interested there are some video of a few of our gigs up at

http://www.youtube.com/user/TheFlyingRatsPunk

I haven't played much in the last year or so but hopping I have a bit more free time to get back into it.

Movies:

I really enjoy warped and art house films by can also enjoy block busters too. I love movies but don't like the way some people let T.V. rule their lives. (The type of people who have to be home at 6:00pm to watch some reality T.V. junk rather than living in the real world.)

Books:

I like the information in books but am a slow reader. I tend to read non-fiction book a lot more than fiction books because I love to learn new things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow! As if anyone could fit this into a box. Hmmm... I guess these experiences will just have to be left for conversation with those I meet for now.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe everyone is always learning and should always be open to teaching with out it being a conscious thing... if not your most likely dead.

The main project that I am working on a the moment is building a mezzanine level in the warehouse we live in. I am no expert on this but am learning as I do it. With this project we are building the framing, walls, wiring up electrics, running water pipes, putting in insulation, laying the mezzanine floor and building shelves in the new pantry under part of the mezzanine. Anyone who wants to help out is more than welcome to share their knowledge or lean with me.

On top of the mezzanine project I am in the process of making an arcade machine and have a few old pinball machines, which require a bit of maintenance.

I wish to share music I have collected and hear music from other people.

I'd like to verbally trade stories.

I am out of practice but I can teach juggling as well as many other circus arts.

I am an artist (painter, stencil artist, photographer, video artist and many more forms) and or though I believe the key to being a good artist is just doing it I can give you some pointers, help you out with more technical aspects (such as using Photoshop) or just keep you company when you are creating.

I am up for helping organise D.I.Y. events. At home I help run music gigs, art shows and festivals. I have had some formal training and have worked as both a theatre technician and an audio engineer. I can help give advise with sound, lighting and audio visual.

I am into home brewing (beer, cider & spirits)and can help teach people about that.

I can share knowledge about off the grid living - solar power, generators, tank water, etc. I have lived in several houses on solar power systems that I have set up. I have also used and bought generators, solar systems and battery systems for festivals and gigs that I have helped run where mains power was not available. I grew up on tank water as a kid, used them a lot after and am rather knowledgeable about them.

I have squatted a fair bit, turning unused buildings into homes. Through this I have learnt a lot about building repairs - lock smithing, basic plumbing, carpentry, etc.
