Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to travel - you meet cool people and find out where the best spots are from them. I am totally willing to host some weary travelers on my couch as well.

I currently have two couches and I live in Brooklyn near Williamsburg with two awesome roommates.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music includes Sufjan Stevens, Deerhoof, Spoon, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix, Deerhoof, David Bowie, Andrew Bird, Grimes, and much more

Books: A Tale of Two Cities, Stranger in a Strange Land, Dune, all of A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked to the top of Cotopaxi, an active volcano in Ecuador. Then I ran/skipped back down to where the majority of my group was. I found it much easier to sort of run my way down than to slowly pick my way down, and I will always remember the incredible feeling of being in complete control, going top speed down the side of a volcano.

Teach, Learn, Share

For some reason, I am incredibly fascinated by ancient cultures and their ways of understanding the world. For instance, ancient Norse mythology. The vikings had a belief that the word would end in Ragnarok, an epic battle between the viking gods (Thor, Odin, etc.) and elemental giants on earth. Thor fights a giant snake, Odin fights a giant made of fire. In the end, pretty much everybody dies, but there are a lot of interesting stories that have somehow survived through the ages. I could talk about this stuff for hours.

Also, I draw and paint a lot and I'm an okay cook.
