About Me

Hi there! My name's Iris and I currently live in Argentina, although I was born in Soria (a little town in Spain) and I moved to Porto (Portugal) when I was 21. I lived in the most beautiful city I know (Porto) for 7 years and then I traveled non-stop for seven months through South America (Colombia, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Brazil) as a solo traveler.

In 2017 a kind camping/hostel receptionist appeared in my life when I was still travelling by my own. In November 2018 I left Porto and I moved to Buenos Aires and we became a family of two people loving each other. (He's Lucas, you can see him in some of the pictures).

I still travel alone a lot, but I have to introduce my partner here, since we travel and will travel together as well :) and sometimes I will maybe request you to host the both of us.

Lucas was born in Belgium, but his family is Argentinian. He was moved to Argentina at 1 years old, so he's more latin than european :)

He lived most of his life at Patagonia. He loves nature, hiking, moving, playing piano, etc.
I love that too (although I can't play piano, but I can play a little bit of guitar).

He's a psychologist, I am an artist. We believe and fight for living in an equal world. We hate HATE. We are open minded and curious people. We love getting to know new cultures, perspectives, and having deep conversations about the world that surround us and about how to make the best for leaving a better condition planet than the one that what we received.

My English is worse than his, but in case of emergency, you can talk to/with my eyes. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Even if I would be rich I think I would always take the option to be accommodated in local places or hostels, where I can easily meet people and get to know cultures. I use to be solo traveler, so Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to make friends and have plans with someone that knows the city. I won't be annoying if you are busy :) I am easily adaptable to all kind of circumstances. :D

Things that I specially love: Travelling, dancing, singing, listening live and spontaneous music, doing yoga, (trying to) meditate, drawing, designing, philosophy, social psychology, photography, people stories, typography, sports, learning anything that brings me joy and/or curiosity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been living in a camping car for two months with a crazy family in a little town of France, but the details have to be describe in person... too long story!

I've also done paragliding in Colombia, parachuting in Foz de Iguaçu (Brazil), and I've rappeled a 17 floor's building in Bolivia. Ah! And I hiked an active volcano in Chile. Maybe not amazing, but my adrenaline turned on for real!
