About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just living life on Vancouver Island at the moment. I've fallen in love with this place but still have the wander lust. Been in a steady job here a while that has allowed me lots of time off.

ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty easy going person. I like to experience new things and have a great time doing it. I always love meeting new people, understanding new cultures and gaining new perspectives on life.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is not about weathering the storm, its about learning how to dance in the rain.

Time you enjoy wasting, wasn't wasted. (Lennon)

I never let my schooling get in the way of my education. (Mark Twain)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a futon to offer in Victoria BC for the time being. When I hit the road next I will be hoping to find some couch surfers to meet up with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I often have people crashing on my couch but not always through couch surfing. When schedules work out (I spend many weekends out of town) I always like getting to know new people.

Interests

I love backpacking, meeting new people, playing guitar, snowboarding, camping, hiking, and spending the evenings at my favorite pubs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Acoustic guitar of any kind, Classic rock, Irish drinking songs.

Favourite Book: 'Seven Years in Tibet' by Heinrich Harrer. 'On the Road' by Jack Kerouac. 'Cather in the Rye' by J.D Salinger. '1984' by George Orwell. 'The Expedition' by Jason Lewis. 'A long trek home' by Erin McKitttick.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- The views from tops of the Dolomites in Alleghe, Italy. Several years later and many travels and I still have trouble comparing anything to the beauty of this mountain town and the surrounding mountains.

-Running with the Bulls in Pamplona in 2009. It was a pretty unreal experience and definitely pushed the comfort zone a little.

- Vancouver Island - I loved it so much I had to pack up and move here. I live here now and it still continues to blow me away. Without a doubt it is one of the most amazing places on earth.

- Central America...just go! Amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share
