Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To expand my cultural understanding through travel and meeting new people.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in rural PA. My dad was a Navy pilot so from a young age I've been traveling around and have had the urge to be on the road seeing new places. I am currently studying Community Development at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain GA. Lookout Mountain stands above Chattanooga TN which is a great city. In the past few years I have done a good bit of traveling in Europe and the US. I love adventure and the thrill of being someplace new and getting to know fellow travelers and hear their stories is incredibly exciting to me.
PHILOSOPHY
I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ came to earth and died on the cross to redeem us from the darkness of our own hearts. I do not believe that being a Christian gives me the right to judge others, rather I believe it is the basis and foundation for loving others and treating others with dignity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have no couch surfing experience. Most of my traveling has been in areas where I have friends or contacts. Couch surfing is exciting to me and I have friends who have had wonderful experiences both hosting and traveling.
Interests
I am studying Community Development which is a hybrid of economic development and social work. I love learning about sustainable agriculture and other aspects of development. I love reading (my favorite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck). I play soccer and volleyball and love any type of outdoor sports and activities.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love movies. My family converses more in movie quotes than in normal conversation. I can get down to just about anything. I love good film, but I also really enjoy entertaining (sometimes cheesy) movies. I just watched "Return to Me" the other night and was reminded how much I enjoy romantic comedies. Favorite movie is probably Gladiator or one of the Pixar films (maybe Toy Story).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've ever seen was the night sky in Yosemite Valley, CA. My brother woke me and my little sister in the middle of the night to go out and look at the stars. There were more stars than I've ever seen in my life. The sky was literally glowing purple. I'll never forget that night.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am at a place in my life where I am consumed by my studies. I do not feel as though I have mastery of much. I have dabbled and explored, but anything I have to offer is from a patchwork of experience and an overwhelming helping of God's grace in my life.
